DEBBIE KENDALL MBACP Therapeutic Counsellor

About Debbie

Deborah works with clients in a non-judgemental way so that they are able to discuss their situation in a safe and confidential setting to look at the best way forward.

Debbie is a qualified and experienced Counsellor who works within the Person Centred philosophy of counselling using an approach that suits the client as an individual, viewing clients as a whole person, not as a problem waiting to be solved.  Debbie is able to draw on a range of counselling techniques to ensure that you the client receives the best possible therapy for your situation.

Person Centred counselling recognises the client as their own best authority on their own experience, and as being fully capable of having the answers to their own life challenges. Person Centred counselling provides the right conditions for clients to work through their issues and to look at ways to solve their situation in a way that will fit with them as individuals.

Debbie prides herself on being very real and honest with clients in a non-judgemental way.  Her warm, caring and understanding approach leads to a strong counselling relationship with the client which enables each person to safely explore their difficulties, leading to change and being able to live a more fulfilling life.  By providing clients with a safe and confidential space, this enables them to feel free to explore, uncover and identify underlying issues. This awareness allows choices to be made to create the changes a client needs.

Debbie has experience of working within private, voluntary and NHS agency settings providing long or short term counselling.  She has worked with both male & female clients aged 16-65+ years of age and has specialised in working at a women’s centre dealing with all types of difficulties e.g. anxiety, self-esteem, depression, terminal illness, emotional trauma, abuse, OCD tendencies and relational difficulties.

Prior to becoming a Counsellor, Debbie was a coach/development manager within the workplace.  She has worked with many people who have experienced workplace stress.  This experience complimented with her counselling training has given Debbie the skills to help clients who are suffering with work related difficulties.  She understands how pressure and stress experienced at work can have an effect on all other areas of life.

Debbie is a member of the British Association for Counsellors & Psychotherapists.   She is able to work with clients on any issue which they bring to counselling and has expertise in the following areas:

Self-Esteem issues and working with adults who have suffered childhood trauma (e.g. neglect, domestic violence, physical, emotional or sexual abuse)
